KATE MENTINK

Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, of an Ayrshire farming family, Kate got her Masters at Glasgow University and specialized in business at Strathclyde University, separately studying Politics. After just a few years in business and commerce in Glasgow, Kate moved to London to Libertys of Regent Street.  Marriage to a Dutch Hotel Director took her in to a whole new career in Hotel Development, travelling the world, and culminating in Mallorca with British Caledonian Hotel Group some 30 years ago.  Kate later started her own company here in Mallorca,  “Golden Chain”, which she developed with husband David, until entering politics in Calvia as an elected Councillor with the Partido Popular in 2003, continuing after the 2007 elections as an  Assistant Mayor. In 1994 Kate founded the Association “Ciudadanos Europeos” here in the Baleares and is the actual Honorary President. She founded “Europeos por España” in 2009, and is the actual Honorary President.
